September TBR

While I haven’t posted a TBR in a couple of months, I’m ready to start this back up again. I know I don’t stay 100% true to these lists when I post them, but at least they give me some guidance as to what I want to get read. I also find that TBRs help reduce my indecisiveness when faced with 400+ books to choose from. It’s nice to switch things up every once in a while, but it’s also nice to have a place to look should I want to grab a book without having too think too hard about it.

As I’ve just gotten a new fur baby (pictured below), I plan on having a lot more downtime at home where I can chill out with my girl Yzma as get some quality reading done. What’s better than sitting with a good book, a warm cup of tea, and a cuddly puppy?

Total books: 5

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee: Yes, I still haven’t gotten around to reading this book. Yes, this is one of the books I wanted to read in June. Yes, this is one of the books I dropped in order to divert from my June TBR. However, I really need to finish the books my friend lent me 3 months ago so that I can give them back to her. So this is the first book I hope to read in September.

Antebellum Awakening by Katie Cross: This is the second book in the Network series. Having loved Miss Mabel’s School for Girls so much, I don’t want to forget about this world before jumping back in. I can’t wait to read more about these amazing witches and how Bianca hopes to escape from the troubles she found herself in at the end of the first book.

Lodestar by Shannon Messenger: I think I’ve given myself enough of a break from the events that unfolded in Neverseen so I’m ready to jump back into this series. If you haven’t yet given The Keeper of the Lost Cities series a try, and you’re a fan of fantasy stories, I highly recommend that you do.

A Whole New World by Liz Braswell: While technically the first book in the Twisted Tales series, they’re all standalone stories and this this will not be my first book in this series. I’ve already begun this story but have yet to finish it. My goal is to finish this, the twisted tale of Aladdin, in the month of September. This is the second book that I need to finish and return to my friend.

Part of Your World by Liz Braswell: The “fifth” book in the Twisted Tales series is all about Braswell’s take on Disney’s The Little Mermaid. The third, and final, book that I’ve borrowed from my friend that I plan on finishing this month. One of my favourite Disney movies, I can’t wait to read how Braswell reinterprets this classic children’s tale. Hopefully it’s not as sad as the original (not the Disney movie)!

Is there a book that you’re looking forward to getting around to or finishing this month? Any new releases you can’t wait to read? An older book that’s caught your eye? I’d love to hear what you plan on reading.

  1. I hope you like To Kill a Mockingbird – it’s one of my all-time favorites! Right now I’m reading The Library Book by Susan Orlean and I hope to get some good reading time in today and tomorrow πŸ™‚
